Disconnection Notice: Vocalist, John Feldmann has been noted for saying, “that the title of the new album is really about feeling disconnected from society”. “My diet and my beliefs have in a sense disconnected me from a majority of society. It’s also about not fitting in. Which, is something I’ve always felt.” Last year DJ, Dwight Arnold encouraged me to join him at the Goldfinger show being held at the Long Beach Sports Arena . He had told me many great things about this band and their vocalist John Feldmann. We listened to Goldfinger CD’s all the way to the packed stadium. I was hooked immediately on songs like “Open your eyes” and “Here in Your Bedroom”. We met John Feldmann before the show he was awesome, as described. This energetic Rock Star with bleach blonde Mohawk had an energy that was limit less with a genuine enthusiasm I’ve rarely seen.

John Feldmann is noted as producer and song writer for bands such as Good Charlotte, Story of the Year, The Used, & the Mest to name a few. Not to mention the great deal of success he’s had with his own band, Goldfinger. What sold me on these, as their management calls them, “well-hung pop-punk kamikazes” is their live stage performance. One by one fans were carried away from the front of the stage. Over zealous fans who got too caught up in the moment and the energy and literally were fatiguing themselves with crowd surfing and dancing.

One very important Goldfinger project is “Concerts for Compassion”. We met up again with John backstage at this show last spring it was an all star line up with his friends in Good Charlotte, The Used, Story of the Year and many more veggie
friendly animal loving rockers.

Dwight Arnold: So how did the Concert for Compassion Series work out, was it successful?

John Feldmann: It was awesome! The Concert for Compassion was a huge success we raised money and we raised awareness so I think it was a huge success. The charity’s name is called SHAC which means Stop Hundington Animal Cruelty. Hundington is the company responsible for all of the testing of lipstick and lotions on innocent beagle puppies. They force these little puppies to ingest the products and torture them. There is
no reason at all to kill animals for things like lipstick and cosmetics.

Dwight: Its scary some days speaking out it can rally cost you.

John: One day my house was raided after one of the protests we did. . So the next day FBI agents and helicopters show up at my house and rip it into pieces. I sat there for three hours on my couch while my house was torn apart in a search of spray paint cans. Yeah that’s our tax dollars hard at work. It only motivated me more to fight the system harder. There not going to scare me. It only motivated me more to stand up for what
